Wasps Nest

These guys keep on getting in my house some how, so they are going down tonight. Looks like a hot soapy water death will be coming for them.
Another Ice Cream Sandwich Wallpaper

I can’t wait for this OS to come out, but to tide us over until it does, I made another ICS inspired wallpaper.
This wallpaper should work on any current Android device from phone to tablet. I made it at 1920x1920. Click the thumb below to view the full size image.

BaconReader
I am checking out the new BaconReader alpha that was released today. BR is a Reddit reader for Android.
This app feels way too polished to be an alpha. I can’t wait to see where this goes for the stable release!
If you enjoy Reddit and have an Android phone, I highly suggest you check it out. You can download it HERE.

Just got done installing the Gingerbread leak for my Droid X… I still hate Blur.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP - Review

Up until just a few days ago, I was not sure if there was sure there was a game for the iOS that truly could be defined as a unique playing experience that could not be found on any other platfom. Sure you have many notable titles such as Angry Birds, Cut The Rope and Tiny Wings. Don’t get me wrong these are truly great games, but none them approach the masterpiece that is “Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP”. If you think of these other games as great action movies, “Sworcery” should be considered the first epic on the platform.

“Sworcery” is one of the largest paradigm shifts in mobile gaming that I am aware of. This game is a culmination of the great Sierra games such as Goldrush, Kings Quest, Space Quest etc. but with a large modern touch screen twist to it. They are able to overcome the frustration of the roots that it pulls from with this new interface, but still stay true to the imagery of its progenitors with an incredibly smooth animation element attached to it.

I honestly was smitten by this game within the first 10 minutes of play, and it truly hooked me with the music that is provided by Jim Guthrie. You will notice that it has “EP” in the title, this is due to its heavy relation to music. The game rises and falls with the music and truly lets you know if you are on the right path with these changes. An LP is expected in the first week of April of the music from this game, I will be one of the first people to buy it, I can’t get enough of it.

The game mechanics are spot on, and use several of the unique aspects that only modern touch screen devices can provide. I honestly don’t see how this game could have been made before this time and provide as rich of an experience as it does.

I really don’t want to get into much of the storyline for the fact that if you play this game, you should not be given too much information going in. What I will do is embed the following trailer that they released for the game.
Audience Calibration Procedure from Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery on Vimeo.
I should note that there are a few bugs that need to be worked out, but none of them truly sour the experience and from what I have read they should be worked out soon. I know it is only March, but I honestly expect this game to win mobile game of the year honors. If it does not, I can’t wait to see what knocks it off.

This game integrates very well with Twitter, and you should know by now if anyone you follow is playing the game. It should be noted that the game is not spamming Tweets, the player is choosing to push those messages from the game to Twitter.

It took me roughly 4 hours of game time to complete this game. There was only one part that I truly got stuck on for a significant period of time. For the most part though this game was a good challenge from beginning to end. I would highly suggest any gamers out there with an iPad, spend the $5 on this game, its value/time ratio is way better than any movie you will see this year.
